Location: Nationwide/agile working plus travel as necessary
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available, just let us know when you speak to us.

Your Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key player in driving commercial excellence within Kier Design. Collaborating closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage all aspects of commercial activity, from procurement to financial reporting. This is your chance to work alongside talented Project Leads and embedded teams, ensuring robust commercial controls and clear forecasting while enhancing overall business efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead subcontractor procurement activities, including tendering, evaluation, and appointment, while managing whole-life subcontract performance.
- Support contract administration and change control processes, collaborating with Project Leads to manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Provide accurate forecasting and reporting, prepare client applications for payment, and manage work in progress effectively.
- Ensure safe entry into contracts through PLM governance and compliance with commercial standards.
- Enhance team efficiency by monitoring utilization, supporting bid and tender activities, and building strong inter-team relationships.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You have experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role within construction, consultancy, design, or term-service environments.
- You possess strong contractual awareness, including NEC and general commercial principles, with proven experience in subcontract procurement and management.
- You’re confident in preparing client applications, forecasting, cost reporting, and managing change control processes.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, are detail-oriented, and can work independently across multiple projects.
- You’re a collaborative problem-solver with strong time management skills, commercial judgment, and a commitment to our values.
