Are you ready to make a significant impact on a major infrastructure project? We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic East West Rail team in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. This is your chance to collaborate with an experienced team and play a vital role in managing the commercial aspects of this exciting project!
Location & Working Conditions
- Location: St Neots with travel between Bedford and Cambridge – hybrid working
- Hours: Permanent Full-time, 45 hours per week (some flexibility available)

Your Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be instrumental in delivering commercial excellence on the project. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Assisting with contract valuations, ensuring timely and accurate payment applications, and compiling final accounts.
- Leading sub-contractor management from enquiry through to completion, including drafting orders and analyzing tenders.
- Collaborating closely with the project manager on cost control and forecasting site expenditure.
- Identifying and raising contract changes through Early Warnings and Compensation Events, while supporting the Commercial Manager with risk management.
- Providing leadership and guidance to junior commercial staff, fostering their development.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for someone who:
- Holds a Degree, HNC, or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Has prior experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and enjoys working with data.
- Builds strong relationships and communicates confidently with diverse stakeholders.
- Is organized, manages time effectively, and can juggle multiple priorities.
