Are you ready to make a significant impact on a major infrastructure project? We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic East West Rail team in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. This is your chance to collaborate with an experienced team and play a vital role in managing the commercial aspects of this exciting project!

Location & Working Conditions

  • Location: St Neots with travel between Bedford and Cambridge – hybrid working
  • Hours: Permanent Full-time, 45 hours per week (some flexibility available)

Your Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be instrumental in delivering commercial excellence on the project. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Assisting with contract valuations, ensuring timely and accurate payment applications, and compiling final accounts.
  • Leading sub-contractor management from enquiry through to completion, including drafting orders and analyzing tenders.
  • Collaborating closely with the project manager on cost control and forecasting site expenditure.
  • Identifying and raising contract changes through Early Warnings and Compensation Events, while supporting the Commercial Manager with risk management.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to junior commercial staff, fostering their development.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Holds a Degree, HNC, or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Has prior experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and enjoys working with data.
  • Builds strong relationships and communicates confidently with diverse stakeholders.
  • Is organized, manages time effectively, and can juggle multiple priorities.
