Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic Structures team on the A417 Missing Link at Air Balloon project in beautiful Gloucestershire. This is an incredible opportunity to make a significant impact on a major highways project while contributing to our commercial function.

Location

A417 Missing Link at Air Balloon, Gloucestershire – Enjoy the flexibility of some remote working alongside office travel.

Hours

Permanent Full-time – 45 hours per week. We offer some flexibility on hours, so just let us know what works for you!

Salary

Competitive salary ranging from £50,000 to £70,000 per year, plus:

  • Private healthcare
  • £5,900 annual car allowance
  • Excellent benefits package

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be at the forefront of managing costs and maximizing value while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety throughout the contract. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Managing commercial resources to maximize planned gross margin through effective contract and subcontract control.
  • Overseeing change control with subcontractors in line with NEC4 procedures.
  • Minimizing the risk of disallowed costs from the client.
  • Assessing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks while implementing Kier's risk management policies.
  • Maximizing cash flow through the control, measurement, and valuation of work, including invoicing and supplier payments.
  • Valuing work executed by subcontractors and certifying interim and final payments.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for someone who has:

  • Experience in a similar role within the highways sector.
  • A relevant qualification, such as a degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Confidence in using MS Office, particularly Excel, and other IT systems.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with the flexibility to travel when required.
