Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Project Surveyor to join our dynamic team at Durham County Council NETPark, located in the vibrant areas of Sedgefield and Hebburn.

Hours:

Your Opportunity:

Join us in an exciting venture as we embark on the third phase of a significant expansion at one of the UK's premier science, engineering, and technology parks. The £61m North East Technology Park (NETPark) will create up to 232,000 square feet of flexible laboratory, office, production, and storage space. As our Senior Project Surveyor, you’ll collaborate closely with the commercial lead, managing a large supply chain and ensuring outstanding commercial outcomes from start to finish.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Senior Project Surveyor, you will:

  • Manage applications for payment from sub-contractors and prepare client applications.
  • Negotiate with the supply chain to achieve the best value and award work packages.
  • Monitor actual expenditure against budgets through Cost Value Reconciliation Reports.
  • Ensure all variations are properly costed and logged in line with contract conditions.
  • Mentor and support junior commercial staff, sharing your expertise.

What We’re Looking For:

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You have experience in commercial construction projects with a strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
  • You’ve successfully delivered high-value projects ranging from £20M to £100M within a Main Contracting organization.
  • You hold a relevant degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • You’re confident in dealing with client representatives, sub-contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • You possess a Full driving licence.
