Join Our Team as a Quantity Surveyor!

Are you ready to make a significant impact on a major infrastructure project? We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic East West Rail team in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. This is your chance to collaborate with an experienced team and play a vital role in managing the commercial aspects of this exciting project!

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be at the forefront of delivering commercial excellence. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Contract Valuations: Assist in ensuring applications for payment are submitted promptly and accurately, and compile contract final accounts.
  • Sub-Contractor Management: Lead the management process from enquiry through to completion, including compiling enquiries, analyzing tenders, and drafting orders.
  • Cost Control: Work closely with the project manager on forecasting site expenditure to completion.
  • Contract Change Management: Identify and raise contract changes through Early Warnings and Compensation Events, supporting the Commercial Manager and Managing Quantity Surveyor.
  • Leadership: Provide guidance to junior commercial staff and assist in their development.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Holds a Degree, HNC, or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Has prior experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and enjoys working with data and commercial information.
  • Builds strong working relationships and communicates confidently with a diverse range of people.
  • Stays organized, manages time effectively, and can juggle multiple priorities.

Working Conditions

This is a Permanent Full-time position, requiring 45 hours per week. We offer some flexibility on hours, so just let us know your preferences when you speak to us. The role is based in St Neots, with travel between Bedford and Cambridge, and we support hybrid working.
