Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team, working on exciting projects in the railway, aviation, nuclear, and defence sectors. Enjoy the flexibility of remote work, with occasional travel to the office as needed.

  • Hours: 40 hours per week (flexibility available)

Your Responsibilities:

As a Senior Estimator (Rail), you will play a crucial role in our estimating team, helping to secure new work through competitive tenders and negotiated contracts. Your expertise will be vital in maximizing our commercial position while aligning with our Business Plan objectives. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:

  • Lead the estimating process from receipt of client documents to handover to delivery teams.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates, presenting findings at bid team meetings and final reviews.
  • Prepare structured items and quantities using methods of measurement, pricing work under various contract forms.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to develop supply chain strategies, appraising quotations and selecting suitable partners.
  • Identify key risks, supervise junior team members, and support their professional development.

What We’re Looking For:

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You hold a degree or HNC qualification in construction or civil engineering, along with a professional qualification.
  • You have experience as an Estimator with a major civil engineering contractor or as a Senior Estimator with Tier 2 contractors.
  • You possess a solid understanding of railway sector work types, possession working, and typical site constraints.
  • You have strong commercial awareness, knowledge of main Forms of Contract, and excellent communication skills.
  • You are proficient in Excel and either have experience with the RIB Candy estimating system or are eager to learn.
