We are currently seeking a Qualified Waking Night Support Worker to join our team and help create a stable, nurturing environment for our young residents.

About the Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of each young person during the night. Your compassionate support will help them navigate what can often be a challenging time.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay awake and alert throughout your shift to ensure the safety and well-being of each young person.
• Provide calm, compassionate support during the night, recognizing the unique needs of children.
• Assist with individual bedtime routines and engage in suitable nighttime activities.
• Maintain accurate computer-based records and adhere to all safeguarding procedures.
• Communicate effectively with out-of-hours services and handle calls professionally.
• Act as a positive role model for both colleagues and young people.

What We Offer

• Competitive Salary: Up to £31,867.18 per annum (dependent on qualifications).
• Fixed Rota Pattern: Enjoy a structured schedule with 12-hour shifts from 20:00 to 08:00.
• Generous Leave: Minimum of 236 hours annual leave, increasing by 12 hours each year for three years (up to 272 hours).
• Pension Scheme: Available after the qualifying period.
• Professional Development: Comprehensive induction and mandatory training, plus fully funded enrolment onto required qualifications if not already held.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Strong team player with energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
• Able to follow delegated tasks and produce clear, detailed handovers.
• Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
• Well-organized with the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
• Willing to work towards the relevant qualification if not already held; a Children’s Workforce Diploma (or equivalent) is desirable.

Working Conditions

This is a permanent position based in Greater London, covering homes in Camden, Haringey, and Islington. You will work a minimum average of 168 hours per month, with a fixed rota pattern that allows for a balanced work-life schedule.
