Easthorpe School is a vibrant independent specialist provision dedicated to supporting children and young people in the East Midlands. We cater to those living with their families, foster carers, or in residential children's homes.

Since opening our doors in November 2022, we are excited to expand our team to accommodate the growing number of pupils in our Lower School, serving ages 7-13. With class sizes capped at seven, each class is supported by a qualified teacher and up to two teaching assistants.

We focus on pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), including diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher to shape our new provision and make a lasting impact on our pupils' lives.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum, tailored to meet the complex SEMH needs of our pupils.
• Support the class team in creating enriching learning opportunities and fostering positive behaviors.
• Monitor and report on pupils' progress, collaborating with staff to ensure all needs are met.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips.
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage interaction and enhance learning outcomes.
• Assist the Exams Officer with the planning and administration of internal and external examinations.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• A strong educational background at degree level.
• Previous successful experience in SEND teaching.
• Good understanding of the examination process.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
• Effective behavior management techniques.
• A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
