Basic Salary: Up to £37,500 plus SEN Allowance: £2,679

Opened in November 2022, we are expanding our team to accommodate our growing Lower School provision for pupils aged 7-13.

With class sizes capped at seven pupils, each classroom is supported by a qualified teacher and up to two teaching assistants. Our mission is to provide high-quality education tailored to the unique needs of each pupil, including those with diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and more.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a SEN Class Teacher, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum, catering to the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
  • Support your class team in creating enriching learning opportunities and fostering positive behaviors.
  • Monitor and report on pupils' progress, collaborating with staff to ensure every child's needs are met.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage interaction and enhance learning outcomes.
  • Assist the Exams Officer with the planning and administration of internal and external examinations.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Possess a strong educational background to degree level.
  • Have previous successful experience in SEND teaching.
  • Understand the examination process well.
  • Have experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • Utilize effective behavior management techniques.
  • Be committed to your professional development and eager to learn.

Please note that the successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS check, which will be covered by Easthorpe School.
