Join Our Team as a Residential Childcare Support Worker!
Are you a warm and motivated individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? At Bayview Childcare, we are excited to invite you to become a part of our welcoming team in Lancaster! You will work in one of our family-style homes in Heysham or rural North Lancaster, supporting up to four young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Your Role
As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping children build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality care and key worker support, consistently meeting and exceeding Ofsted standards.
- Building trusting, positive relationships with young people, their families, and external professionals.
- Contributing to individual care plans and support routines that foster confidence and life skills.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment, assisting with daily tasks like cooking and shopping.
- Supporting children through daily activities, supervising closely, and responding appropriately to any concerns.
- Accurately recording progress, behavior, incidents, and feedback to ensure clear communication with management.
- Completing and following risk assessments for all activities while upholding policies and childcare regulations.
- Acting as a positive role model, promoting belonging, inclusion, and a culture of trust and teamwork.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A full UK driving licence (essential).
- A passion for working with young people and a commitment to their welfare.
- The willingness to complete a Level 3 Diploma or Level 4 Practitioner Apprenticeship within two years if you don’t already hold a relevant qualification.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, permanent position with a shift pattern of 40 hours per week. You will enjoy a competitive base salary of £26,603.20 per annum, with the potential to earn up to £33,323.20 per annum through sleep-in shifts.
