Key Details

Location: Nationwide – site-based role in Tebay, Cumbria, with some remote working options available.

Hours: Permanent, Full-time, 45 hours per week – flexible hours can be discussed.

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per year + £5,000 annual car allowance + benefits.

Note: We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role.

Your Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be at the forefront of managing costs, maximizing value, and ensuring the successful delivery of the project. Collaborating closely with our commercial and operational teams, you’ll help maintain strong financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the commercial management of contracts and work packages to achieve project objectives and target margins.
  • Preparing and submitting valuations, applications, claims, and commercial reports in line with contractual requirements.
  • Monitoring costs, forecasting financial performance, and providing accurate commercial insights to the project team.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, helping to resolve issues and protect project outcomes.
  • Managing measurements, valuations, and cash flow to maintain effective commercial control throughout delivery.

What We’re Looking For

This role could be a perfect fit for you if you:

  • Hold a construction-related degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Have a full driving license and are comfortable working in a site-based environment.
  • Bring experience from a commercial role within construction, infrastructure, or transportation projects.
  • Are confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to analyze and manage commercial information.
  • Enjoy building strong working relationships and communicating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
