Position: Receptionist

Hours: 30 Hours per Week

Salary: £15,862.08 Per Annum

Location: Meoncross School

Contract: Term Time / Part-Time

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

About the Role

As the first point of contact for our school community, the Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere. You will provide a professional and efficient reception and administrative service, ensuring that every visitor feels valued and supported.

This dynamic role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly. You will be:

  • Answering phone calls
  • Welcoming visitors
  • Responding to the door entry system
  • Assisting pupils and staff
  • Handling parent inquiries
  • Carrying out various administrative tasks

About You

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Previous experience in a busy reception, front-of-house, or administrative role.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Familiarity with school management information systems (e.g., iSAMS, SIMS).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience handling telephone, email, and face-to-face inquiries professionally.
  • Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics and English Language or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service that reflects the values of Meoncross School.
  • Support the Bursar and Office Manager in the efficient running of the school office.
  • Manage the busy school office, ensuring prompt and professional responses to inquiries.
  • Ensure the security of the school site by managing visitors and deliveries.
  • Assist with First Aid administration and pupil medication management.
  • Maintain accurate records and handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
  • Act as an ambassador for Meoncross School, positively representing us to the community.
  • Contribute to school events and activities as needed.
