Job Title: Facilities Manager
Contract: Permanent - Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: Up to £38,000 Per Annum

Role Purpose

As our Facilities Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school’s premises and facilities. Your leadership will be key to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for our students and staff.

What You Will Be Doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of premises and facilities management across the school.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire safety, and statutory regulations.
  • Act as the school’s Health & Safety Coordinator, maintaining policies and compliance documentation.
  • Support and prepare for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance and repair programmes.
  • Manage site security and emergency procedures.
  • Coordinate fire evacuation drills and lockdown procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and implement improvements.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers for effective service delivery.
  • Lead and support site and medical room teams.
  • Oversee minor refurbishments and facilities improvement projects.
  • Support school events and community use of facilities.

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Essential:

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site travel.
  • Facilities Management qualification or relevant operational experience.
  • IOSH qualification with strong knowledge of health & safety compliance.
  • Experience managing maintenance, contractors, and statutory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Confident using Microsoft 365 and facilities management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and delivering value for money.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours callouts and school events.

Desirable:

  • Experience within an educational setting.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Practical maintenance skills.
  • Experience managing lettings or external events.
