- Start and finish on your driveway! Enjoy demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.
Where You’ll Work
You’ll be part of the Chesterfield cluster, covering areas like Chesterfield, Mansfield, Alfreton, Bolsover, Clay Cross, and Dronfield. We organize work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your community.
What You’ll Need
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Either:
- NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years of experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
- And:
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether it’s a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault-finding, you’ll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most.

Combine your technical expertise with outstanding member service, and you’ll be set up for success from day one with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.
