The Role

Location: Leeds - Hybrid, 3 days a week
Type: Full Time
Contract type: Permanent

We are on the lookout for an Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic Group Property Development Team!

In this role, you will provide specialist technical support across all property development projects, focusing on both new and existing sites. You'll also contribute to fostering a culture of best practices and continuous improvement within the wider Development team.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Conducting desktop appraisals to assess site suitability for gym conversions.
  • Performing initial feasibility studies and risk assessments.
  • Evaluating environmental impacts and identifying legal issues.
  • Preparing technical drawings and information for feasibility studies and construction projects.
  • Creating drawings and information required for planning and statutory consents.
  • Analyzing architectural plans, identifying risks, and making amendments using CAD.
  • Specifying appropriate technology and tools for projects.
  • Preparing 3D visuals/models to aid stakeholder understanding.
  • Assisting the Senior Project Architect with technical drawings for design manuals.
  • Liaising with architects, surveyors, and other construction professionals.
  • Providing technical assistance to architects and design managers.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of gym formats and design standards.
  • Ensuring personal development plans are in place.
  • Representing the Development function positively and being an ambassador for PureGym.
  • Making significant contributions across the Development function.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as an Architectural Technologist.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and ideally Revit.
  • Strong understanding of Building Regulations.
  • Ideally educated to degree level with a track record of professional development.
  • Experience in multi-site property developments at scale.
  • Background in customer-facing industries like leisure, retail, or hospitality.
  • Passionate about architecture, mathematics, drawing, and design with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Creative, imaginative, and visionary.
  • Proactive, accountable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicator, able to convey complex messages simply.
  • Commercially astute, evaluating investment decisions with member expectations in mind.
  • Member-focused, always striving to enhance the experience for all.
  • Process-oriented, identifying and removing waste through lean thinking.
  • Able to work cross-functionally to achieve the best outcomes for members and PureGym.
  • A passion for fitness and leisure is a plus!
  • Willingness to travel as required.
