Are you ready for a rewarding challenge where you’ll feel valued and supported? We are excited to invite you to become a part of our fantastic team at Chestnut House Kindergarten! Due to our growth, we are looking for a passionate Room Leader to join our Babies room.

Location & Hours

  • Address: 45 Mill Road, Myland, Colchester, CO4 5LE
  • Full Time: 40 hours per week
  • Salary: £29,245 per annum

Located in the historic city of Colchester, our nursery is easily accessible with excellent public transport links and just a short distance from the town center. We operate from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and you will work within these hours on a patterned basis. Room Leader Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences for children, tailored to their age and development.
  • Support the holistic development of children, focusing on their physical, intellectual, social, and emotional needs.
  • Assist staff in maintaining high-quality updates on the EyLog system and child learning journals.
  • Lead by example, promoting respect and credibility in your role.
  • Implement an effective key person approach to foster secure attachments and identify staff training needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and accounts related to children and staff on the EyMan system.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff member, parent, and visitor.
  • Understand and comply with the statutory framework for the EYFS.

Requirements and Skills

  • Essential: Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification.
  • Essential: Over 1 year’s experience working in Early Years.
  • Desirable: Over 6 months’ experience in a senior position.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Ofsted expectations for achieving a Good or Outstanding rating.
  • Essential: Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements.
  • Essential: Fluent in written and spoken English.
