About the Role

We are on the lookout for a passionate Teacher of Product Design (with the opportunity for Subject Lead) to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in enriching our curriculum and fostering intellectual agility and resilience among our students.

As a member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in nurturing a sense of community and supporting various aspects of school life, creating opportunities for aspiration, leadership, and joy. Above all, you will embody our ethos of nurturing confidence and ensuring every student thrives.

Safeguarding is central to this role. You will be expected to adhere to all school policies, maintain confidentiality, complete required training, and prioritize the wellbeing of every pupil.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that foster pupil progress and achievement.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on pupils' attainment, progress, and development.
  • Prepare pupils for examinations and contribute to assessment processes.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, supporting pupils' academic, personal, and social development.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and communicate regularly regarding pupil progress.
  • Contribute to the school's co-curricular programme, including leading an extracurricular club.
  • Support and participate in school trips, events, and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, health, and safety.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, attend meetings, and contribute to school improvement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in the appraisal process.
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with teaching and pastoral responsibilities.
  • Promote and uphold the values, ethos, and community life of the school.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current curriculum developments.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding classroom practice and raise student achievement.
  • Excellent understanding of assessment, monitoring, and reporting processes.
  • Effective behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Proficient in the use of technology to support teaching, learning, and administration.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to education.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
