Role Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to inspire our children! As a 1-2-1 Specialist Learning Support Practitioner, you will provide consistent, structured support to a Year 4 pupil with ADHD and ASD. Your role will be crucial in helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and develop independence.
What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for a Year 4 pupil, following the outcomes and provisions detailed in their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
- Adapt tasks, instructions, and resources to meet the pupil's individual learning, sensory, and attention needs.
- Implement strategies to support emotional regulation, attention, and positive behavior, tailored for pupils with ASD and ADHD.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to plan, deliver, and review support, ensuring inclusion in classroom and school activities.
- Monitor and report on the pupil's progress against EHCP targets, contributing to reviews and documentation as needed.
- Encourage independence, self-confidence, and social communication skills, helping the pupil develop strategies for managing their learning and behavior.
- Support transitions throughout the school day, ensuring the pupil feels secure and prepared.
- Liaise effectively with parents, SENCo, and external professionals to maintain clear communication and consistency.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of the pupil at all times, adhering to school policies on safeguarding and health and safety.
- Engage in relevant training to enhance your understanding of ASD, ADHD, and inclusive education.
- Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and the school’s ethos at all times.
