Your Role and Responsibilities

As our SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our students. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the strategic development of our SEN policy and provision.
• Designing and implementing interventions to bridge attainment gaps.
• Monitoring pupil progress in line with their EHCPs.
• Coordinating annual reviews and acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support individual learning plans.
• Maintaining accurate records and supporting colleagues in effective teaching strategies.
• Analyzing assessment data and leading intervention groups for pupils with SEN.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• National Award for SEN Co-ordination or willingness to pursue the NPQ for SENCOs.
• Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
• Background in teaching within an autism/SEMH school.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
