Specific Hours: Shift pattern, 40 hours
Salary: Base salary of £26,603.20 per annum, with the potential to earn up to £33,323.20 per annum with sleep-in shifts

Are you a warm and motivated individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? At Bay View Childcare, we’re seeking passionate Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our friendly team. You’ll be working in one of our family-style homes in Carnforth, supporting up to four young people.

Your Impact

In this role, you’ll help children aged 8-18 with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Your mission? To build their confidence, develop essential life skills, and help them achieve positive outcomes. You’ll create a safe, nurturing, and homely environment where every young person can thrive. Our homes are rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted, and we need dedicated individuals like you to maintain these high standards.

If you don’t already hold a relevant qualification, don’t worry! You’ll complete either the Level 3 Diploma or Level 4 Practitioner Apprenticeship within two years.

Requirements:

  • A full UK driving licence is essential.

Your Responsibilities

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality care and key worker support, consistently meeting and exceeding Ofsted standards.
  • Build trusting, positive relationships with young people, their families, and external professionals.
  • Contribute to individual care plans and support routines that foster confidence, life skills, and positive outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment, assisting with daily tasks such as cooking and shopping.
  • Support children through daily activities, supervising closely and responding appropriately to worries, behaviors, or conflicts.
  • Record progress, behavior, incidents, and feedback accurately, ensuring clear communication with management.
  • Complete and follow risk assessments for all activities while upholding all policies, procedures, and childcare regulations.
  • Act as a positive role model, encouraging belonging, inclusion, and a culture of trust and teamwork across the home.
