Your Role

We are looking for a caring and innovative leader to join us as Deputy Headteacher with Teaching Responsibilities. In this pivotal role, you will:

• Ensure high-quality teaching and learning, focusing on inclusion and differentiated instruction for SEND students.
• Assess, monitor, and report on the learning needs and achievements of pupils, collaborating with the SENCo.
• Lead whole-school strategic planning and curriculum development.
• Provide curriculum training for staff, valuing continuous professional development.
• Deputise for the Headteacher in their absence.
• Line manage staff and participate in recruitment and onboarding.
• Lead initiatives in careers, reading, and writing to prepare students for their next steps.
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of school policies and practices.
• Promote a therapeutic approach to behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals for optimal student outcomes.
• Foster a culture of cooperation and continuous improvement among staff teams.
• Work closely with other leaders in the Polaris Community to share best practices.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEND.
• A proven track record of delivering a high-quality curriculum focused on supporting young people with SEND.
• Experience in leading and managing teams with a compassionate approach.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A proactive and adaptable attitude, ready to implement new systems aligned with our values.
