Easthorpe School is a vibrant independent specialist provision dedicated to serving children and young people in the East Midlands. We opened our doors in November 2022 and are excited to expand our team to support the growing number of pupils in our Lower School, catering to ages 7-13.

With class sizes capped at seven pupils, each classroom is supported by a qualified teacher and up to two teaching assistants. We focus on pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) and various diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and more.

Role Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum, tailored to meet the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Support the class team in creating learning opportunities and fostering positive behaviors.
• Monitor and report on pupils' progress, collaborating with staff to ensure their needs are met.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips.
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage interaction and enhance learning outcomes.
• Assist the Exams Officer with the planning and administration of internal and external examinations.

Requirements

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Possess a strong educational background to degree level.
• Have previous successful SEND teaching experience.
• Understand the examination process well.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
• Utilize effective behavior management techniques.
• Be committed to professional development and eager to learn.
