Basic Salary: £24,890 FTE (£14,934 actual)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, 3 days a week, including accompanying a pupil to Plumpton College one day per week

Contract: Fixed Term Contract, Term Time Only

Location: Battle, Sussex

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in mentoring and supporting our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing dedicated support to one pupil or a small group of no more than five pupils.
  • Assisting the classroom teacher during lessons.
  • Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, collaborating with other staff to meet pupils' needs.
  • Supervising pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
  • Assisting with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
  • Setting work where appropriate and marking assignments.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils to drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • A strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Sound IT skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.
  • Confidence to lead on a specialism, such as reading, mathematics, or forest school.
  • Experience in behaviour management techniques.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
