Apple Orchard is not just a school; it’s a thriving therapeutic community dedicated to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Our small secondary school is an integral part of this community, where every student is looked after and encouraged to flourish.

Led by an experienced Headteacher and a dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants, we offer a diverse curriculum that includes a range of subjects aligned with the National Curriculum and GCSE pathways. We are on the lookout for a highly motivated PSHE/Careers Teacher to join us in our mission to empower our students.

Your Role

As a PSHE/Careers Teacher, you will:

  • Inspire and motivate young people to reach their full potential.
  • Develop and deliver engaging programs in PSHE, Careers, vocational subjects, and ASDAN.
  • Utilize outstanding classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with a supportive team to enhance the educational experience.
  • Possibly teach additional subjects, broadening your impact.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A clear vision of educational excellence and high expectations for all students.
  • Exceptional ability to build trusting relationships with students.
  • Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset.
  • A valid driving license to operate both manual and automatic vehicles.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position, working term time only. Your hours will be:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 8:45 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Tuesday: 8:45 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £28,000 to £37,800, depending on your experience. Additionally, we are committed to your professional growth and development within our nurturing environment.

As part of our commitment to safeguarding, the successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, which will be covered by Apple Orchard School.
