This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH) in a nurturing environment.

Located in beautiful private grounds, Selwyn Hall School provides specialist education for students aged 7-18 with various needs, including ASD, ADHD, and anxiety. Our small class sizes (4-6 pupils) ensure personalized attention, fostering a therapeutic atmosphere that promotes health and wellbeing.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than six pupils.
• Assist the classroom teacher during lessons and help with lesson planning.
• Report on pupils' progress and collaborate with staff to meet their needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to drive engagement and learning outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
• Confidence to take on additional responsibilities, such as food hygiene or forest school.
• Skills in behavior management and a commitment to professional development.

Working Conditions

This is a fixed-term, full-time position for one year, working during term time only. The salary ranges from £21,257.48 to £23,232.69, depending on experience.
