We are looking for a dedicated Residential Deputy Manager to support our mission and help create a nurturing environment.

About the Role

As our Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our service. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure that we maintain a caring and respectful atmosphere. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager and stepping in when needed to oversee daily operations.
  • Supervising and guiding staff to ensure effective communication and high standards of practice.
  • Managing key operational areas such as care quality, recruitment, training, and financial duties.
  • Assessing young people's needs and contributing to personalized care plans.
  • Promoting positive behavior, independence, and active participation in decision-making.
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Maintaining accurate records, including care plans and risk assessments.
  • Building strong relationships with young people, families, and external professionals.
  • Assisting with admissions and ensuring a smooth transition for each young person.
  • Attending meetings and sharing key information within the team and partner agencies.
  • Ensuring staff are trained in relevant intervention strategies.

Essential Skills Required

  • 2+ years of residential childcare experience.
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Experience in child protection.
  • Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience in managing budgets and staff rotas.
  • Project management skills with an enthusiastic disposition.
  • A commitment to ongoing personal development.
  • Proactive and solution-focused mindset.

Working Conditions

This is a permanent position with specific hours from 08:00 am to 20:00 pm, working 12-hour shifts. You will be expected to support a minimum average of 168 hours per month.
