About the Role
As our Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face of Meoncross School, providing a professional and efficient reception and administrative service. Your role is crucial in creating a positive first impression and delivering exceptional customer service.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced position where no two days are the same. You will:
- Answer telephone calls and welcome visitors
- Respond to the door entry system
- Assist pupils and support staff
- Handle parent inquiries and manage various administrative tasks
To thrive in this role, you must be calm, organized, and approachable, even when juggling multiple priorities.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:

Previous administrative experience is essential, and experience in a school environment is a plus. You will also act as a Primary First Aider, so a current First Aid qualification or willingness to train is required.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Experience in a busy reception or administrative role
- Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service
- Familiarity with school management information systems (e.g., iSAMS, SIMS)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience handling confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics and English Language or equivalent
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for all visitors, providing a welcoming reception service
- Deliver exceptional customer service that reflects the values of Meoncross School
- Support the Bursar and Office Manager in the efficient running of the school
- Manage the busy school office, ensuring prompt and professional responses to inquiries
- Ensure the security of the school site by managing visitors and deliveries
- Assist with First Aid administration and pupil medication management
- Maintain accurate records and handle confidential information with integrity
- Promote the welfare of children and young people
- Act as an ambassador for Meoncross School in the community
- Contribute to school events and activities as needed
