About the Role

We are looking for a passionate After School Care Assistant to help create a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for our pupils outside of educational hours. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children!

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up Before School Care and After School Care.
  • Complete daily registers for pupils attending care sessions.
  • Serve food and beverages, with training provided in Food & Hygiene.
  • Maintain a safe and engaging play environment, fostering children's development through play.
  • Deliver interesting and valuable activities tailored to the children's needs.
  • Administer First Aid when necessary (training provided).
  • Help tidy classrooms and ensure secure storage of resources.

Support for the School

  • Comply with child protection, food hygiene, health, safety, and confidentiality procedures.
  • Promote inclusivity and ensure all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the school vision and objectives.
  • Participate in relevant meetings and training sessions.
  • Set a positive example in dress, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Take on additional duties as required by the school.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

  • Good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with children and adults.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in promoting emotional development in pupils.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection (training provided).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Paediatric First Aid training (training provided).
  • Food & Hygiene Level 2 training (training provided).
  • NVQ 2/3 qualification in childcare or similar.
  • Experience in a similar environment with children.
  • Familiarity with MS Excel for payroll submissions.
