Your Role and Responsibilities

As our SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing the school's special educational needs (SEN) policy.
• Designing interventions to bridge attainment gaps.
• Monitoring pupil progress in line with their EHCPs.
• Coordinating annual reviews and leading safeguarding initiatives.
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support individual learning plans.
• Maintaining accurate records and analyzing assessment data.
• Leading intervention groups and evaluating their effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• The National Award for SEN Co-ordination or a willingness to pursue the NPQ for SENCOs.
• Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
• A background in teaching within an autism/SEMH school.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
