At Selwyn Hall School, we are looking for a dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant community in Foxton, Cambridgeshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH) in a nurturing environment.

Selwyn Hall School is a specialist SEN school catering to children aged 7-18. Our mission is to provide tailored education for students with various needs, including ASD, ADHD, and anxiety. With small class sizes of 4-6 pupils, we ensure that every child receives the individual attention they deserve.

Your Role

As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of up to six pupils
• Assist the classroom teacher during lessons
• Report on pupils' progress and collaborate with staff to meet their needs
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including school trips
• Help with lesson planning and classroom preparation
• Set and mark work as appropriate
• Build positive relationships to drive engagement and learning outcomes

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
• Confidence to take on additional responsibilities, such as food hygiene or forest school
• Skills in behaviour management and a commitment to professional development
