Position: PSHE/Careers Teacher
Contract: Full Time, Permanent, Term Time Only
Salary: £28,000 - £37,800 (dependent on experience)
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 8.45am - 4.30pm
  • Tuesday: 8.45am - 5.00pm

Our small secondary school caters to students with SEMH challenges, and we are on the lookout for a passionate PSHE/Careers Teacher who can forge trusting relationships and inspire our most vulnerable learners.

As part of our community, you will work alongside an experienced team led by our Headteacher, offering a diverse curriculum that includes National Curriculum subjects and GCSE pathways. Together, we strive for excellence and the holistic development of our students.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a PSHE/Careers Teacher, you will:

  • Motivate and encourage young people to reach their full potential.
  • Set high expectations and maintain a clear vision of educational excellence.
  • Exhibit outstanding classroom management and teaching abilities.
  • Create and deliver engaging programs in PSHE, Careers, vocational subjects, and ASDAN.
  • Collaborate with our supportive team, bringing flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Possess the ability to teach additional subjects as needed.
  • Be a driver, capable of operating both manual and automatic vehicles.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A passion for working with young people facing challenges.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

To ensure a safe environment for our students, the successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, which will be covered by Apple Orchard School.
