Salary: Up to £31,867.18 per annum (dependent on qualification)

(Qualified Support Worker salary is based on the proven existing completion of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent)

Specific Hours: 20:00pm - 8:00am (12-hour shifts)

Your Role:

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social development of the children and young people in our homes. Your responsibilities will include:

• Staying awake and alert throughout the night shift
• Ensuring each child’s safety and wellbeing
• Providing empathy and support when young people need reassurance
• Supporting personalized bedtime routines and occasional activities
• Accurately recording information using our computer systems
• Following the Philomena protocol when reporting a missing child
• Communicating effectively with out-of-hours services
• Acting as a positive role model and adhering to Area Camden policies
• Contributing to the home’s values and adapting to the changing needs of the children

What We’re Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following essential skills:

• Ability to work as part of a team, bringing energy and enthusiasm
• Experience and knowledge of safeguarding children
• Capability to follow delegated tasks and record detailed handovers
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to engage and listen to children, taking action when needed
• Organizational skills and the ability to plan and prepare work
• Willingness to work towards the relevant qualification if not held
• A relevant qualification or commitment to undertake a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare
