Hours: 15 hours per week

Salary: £7,931.04 Per Annum

About the Role

Are you passionate about providing a nurturing environment for children? As an After School Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality childcare experience in a safe, caring, and stimulating setting. Your contributions will help create a positive atmosphere for our pupils outside of educational hours.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assist in setting up Before School Care and After School Care.
  • Complete daily registers of pupils attending.
  • Serve food and beverages, with training provided in Food & Hygiene.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating play environment, promoting children's development through engaging activities.
  • Administer First Aid when necessary (training provided).
  • Help tidy classrooms and ensure secure storage of resources.
  • Comply with child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality procedures.
  • Support the school’s vision and objectives, attending relevant meetings and training.
  • Set a positive example in dress, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Undertake additional duties as required.

What You'll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

  • Good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with children and adults.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in promoting children's emotional development.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection (training provided).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Paediatric First Aid training (training provided).
  • Food & Hygiene Level 2 training (training provided).
  • NVQ 2/3 qualification in childcare or similar.
  • Experience working with children in a similar environment.
  • Familiarity with MS Excel for payroll submissions.
