Contract: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 15 hours per week
Salary: £7,931.04 Per Annum

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to help create a high-quality childcare experience in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for our pupils outside of educational hours. As an After School Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of Before School Care and/or After School Care.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Setting up Before School Care and After School Care.
  • Completing daily registers of pupils attending the care sessions.
  • Assisting with serving food and beverages (Food & Hygiene training provided).
  • Maintaining a safe and stimulating play environment, promoting children's social, physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional development through play.
  • Delivering engaging and appropriate activities that cater to the children's needs.
  • Administering First Aid when necessary (First Aid training provided).
  • Tidying the classroom or hall and ensuring secure storage of resources and equipment.

Support for the School

  • Complying with procedures related to child protection, food hygiene, health, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Supporting diversity and ensuring all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Contributing to the school vision and objectives.
  • Participating in relevant meetings and INSET days.
  • Completing mandatory training to ensure compliance.
  • Setting a positive example in dress, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Undertaking additional duties as required by the school.

What You'll Bring

Essential Qualifications

  • Good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with children and adults.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in promoting children's emotional development.
  • Good timekeeping and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection (training provided).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Paediatric First Aid training (training provided).
  • Level 2 Food & Hygiene training (training provided).
  • NVQ 2/3 qualification in childcare or similar.
  • Experience in a similar environment with children.
  • Flexibility in working patterns.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel for payroll submissions.
