Position: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LA funded) for KS2 and KS3

Hours: 29.17 Hours per Week

Salary: Up to £15,423.23 per Annum

Location: Meoncross School

Contract: Fixed-Term / Part-Time

About the Role

As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in the educational and social development of Year 6 and Year 7 pupils with Special Educational Needs. Working under the guidance of the SENDCo and teaching staff, you will:

• Support the Class Teacher in delivering tailored educational experiences.
• Assist with a variety of activities and learning tasks, ensuring the needs outlined in the pupil's Educational Care Health Plan are met.

About You

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Previous experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
• Experience with children with SEND, particularly ASC or SEMH.
• A passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
• GCSEs in Maths and English, grade C or above.
• Level 3 Qualification in Learning Support or Childcare is desirable.
• Ability to build positive relationships that foster child development.
• Experience in delivering targeted support to individuals or small groups.
• Familiarity with KS2/KS3 curriculum.
• Basic computer literacy skills.
• A collaborative team player with a flexible approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning for individuals and small groups.
• Deliver targeted support for pupils with SEND, implementing IEPs, EHCPs, and intervention programs.
• Facilitate learning across the curriculum, including effective use of ICT.
• Promote positive behavior, independence, wellbeing, and inclusion.
• Provide pastoral support and contribute to safeguarding and child protection.
• Supervise pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and other non-classroom activities.
• Assist in school events, educational visits, and extracurricular activities.
• Carry out administrative duties and engage in professional development.
