Why Choose Easthorpe School?

Easthorpe School is an independent specialist provision dedicated to serving children and young people in the East Midlands. Since opening our doors in November 2022, we have been committed to creating a nurturing environment for pupils aged 7-13 with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). Our class sizes are small, with no more than seven pupils, supported by a qualified teacher and up to two teaching assistants.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher to shape the growth of our new provision and enrich the lives of our pupils. You will have the chance to develop your skills while working in one of the most rewarding sectors of education.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the National Curriculum, catering to the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
  • Support the class team in facilitating engaging learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviors.
  • Monitor and report on pupils' progress, collaborating with other staff to ensure their needs are met.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
  • Assist the Exams Officer with the planning, organization, and administration of internal and external examinations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A strong educational background to degree level
  • Previous successful SEND teaching experience
  • A solid understanding of the examination process
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
  • Effective behavior management techniques
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn

What We Offer You

  • A workplace that prioritizes the emotional health and wellbeing of everyone, including you!
  • Support for your professional development with a variety of opportunities to acquire new skills.
  • The chance to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children who deserve high-quality teaching.
  • A friendly and inclusive team passionate about improving pupil outcomes.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, which will be covered by Easthorpe School. We are an equal opportunities employer and encourage applications from suitably qualified candidates. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff to share this commitment.

We invite potential candidates to arrange a school visit before applying. Come see how you can make a difference!
