Position Details
- Contract: 12-month fixed term, part-time, term time only (4 days per week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday)
- Salary: £21,257.48 - £23,232.69 (pro rata: £17,005.98 - £18,584.82)
- Location: Huddersfield
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support one pupil or a small group (maximum six)
- Assist the classroom teacher during lessons
- Report on progress and concerns, liaising with school staff
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities and trips
- Assist with lesson planning and preparation
- Set work and mark where appropriate
- Build positive relationships and support learning outcomes
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Strong basic education: Minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
- IT skills: Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role (teaching assistant desirable) and supporting pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
- Responsibility: Ability to take charge of areas such as food hygiene, forest school, or activities
- Behaviour management: Experience in managing classroom behavior effectively
- Commitment: A dedication to professional development and a willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
