We are currently seeking a Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Soham, Cambridgeshire.
About the Role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social development of the children and young people in our homes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Staying awake and alert throughout the night to ensure each child's safety and wellbeing.
- Providing empathy and support when young people need reassurance.
- Supporting personalized bedtime routines and occasional activities.
- Accurately recording information using our computer systems.
- Following the Philomena protocol when reporting a missing child.
- Communicating effectively with out-of-hours services and handling calls professionally.
- Acting as a positive role model and contributing to the home's values.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following essential skills:
- Ability to work as part of a team, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the role.
- Experience and knowledge of safeguarding children.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage and listen to children, taking action when needed.
- Organizational skills to plan and prepare work effectively.
- A commitment to undertake a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare if not already held.
Working Conditions
This is a permanent position with specific hours from 20:00 PM to 8:00 AM (12-hour shifts). You will work a rotational weekly rota, with a minimum of 48 hours per week and 168 hours per month.
