At ISP School, located in the beautiful Glengorse Estate in Battle, East Sussex, we provide specialist education for children aged 7-18 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH), as well as communication and learning needs. Our mission is to create a safe, supportive environment that fosters self-discipline, engagement, and a love for learning.

Position Overview

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Salary: £28,000 - £39,520

Contract Term: Permanent

Hours: 8.30am - 4.30pm

Location: Battle, East Sussex

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a qualified teacher, you will:

  • Teach at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Plan, prepare, and present engaging lessons tailored to the diverse needs of your students
  • Utilize our positive behaviour policy to foster responsibility and accountability
  • Motivate students to embrace learning and develop a passion for education

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Successful teaching experience, particularly with vulnerable children
  • Experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN), focusing on nurture for children with SEMH and ASC needs
  • A solid understanding of the national curriculum, especially in Science and/or Maths
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • A reflective approach to teaching and learning
  • A good understanding of therapeutic educational approaches
  • The ability to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, which will be covered by ISP School.
