Your Role

As a Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining our school environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining clean, safe, and secure school premises, including buildings and grounds.
  • Carrying out cleaning, handyperson duties, routine maintenance, and minor repairs.
  • Supervising school cleaning staff as needed.
  • Promoting health and safety throughout the school.
  • Managing porterage duties, such as moving furniture and equipment.
  • Reporting any issues to the Headteacher and arranging larger repairs.
  • Conducting daily cleaning and ad hoc duties, including litter picking.
  • Maintaining the security of the school premises as the main key holder.
  • Responding to alarms and potential security breaches.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Previous property maintenance or caretaking experience, preferably in a school environment.
  • Experience with building maintenance and security systems.
  • A good understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Basic DIY skills and good interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be covered by Polaris Education.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a basic salary of £26,402. We offer a range of fantastic benefits, including:
