Your New Role

As the Assistant Lead Plumber, you’ll be a vital part of keeping WBSL running smoothly. Your expertise in maintaining, modifying, and installing plumbing systems will ensure our iconic site operates at its best.

You’ll collaborate closely with the Lead Plumber, Maintenance Manager, and Facilities Administrators, overseeing every job from start to finish. Your leadership will help maintain a safe environment and uphold the highest standards. If you’re ready to step up, lead with purpose, and make an impact every day, this role is waiting for you!

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Write and deliver risk assessments and method statements.
  • Monitor health and safety compliance, ensuring correct PPE is worn.
  • Operate and maintain mechanical systems via the BMS.
  • Supervise and instruct team members while carrying out small installations and modifications.
  • Respond to emergencies with a focus on implementing permanent or temporary fixes.
  • Conduct general maintenance tasks and survey inspections, including areas at height.
  • Stand in for the Lead Plumber when necessary, managing in-house rotas and emergency calls.

Qualifications & Experiences

  • Experience with site plant equipment such as MEWPS.
  • Working knowledge of industrial and commercial systems, including HVAC.
  • Technologically proficient with a solid understanding of sanitization and drainage systems.
  • Full knowledge of health and safety standards.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and building specifications for plumbing layouts.
  • Understanding of maintenance requirements and special equipment used on site.
  • Must hold a full UK driving license.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing & Heating.
  • NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Installing & Maintaining Domestic Heating Systems.
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating.
  • Gas Safe registration is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Legionella Regulations and Water Regulations.
  • Trained to use trailers and forklifts.
  • Familiarity with the Business Management System (BMS).

Working Pattern

You will work a 40-hour week on a rota shift pattern, including evenings and weekends to align with studio operations. Be prepared to respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours, including some bank holidays.

Onsite Working: This role is onsite, meaning all working hours will be carried out at the workplace. WBD reserves the right to change this working agreement as necessary for business needs.
