Hours: 29.17 Hours per Week

Salary: Up to £15,423.23 per Annum

About the Role

As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in the educational and social development of Year 6 and Year 7 pupils with Special Educational Needs. Working under the guidance of the SENDCo and teaching staff, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Class Teacher in delivering tailored educational support.
  • Assisting with a variety of activities and learning tasks.
  • Preparing and maintaining differentiated resources to meet the requirements of the pupil's Educational Care Health Plan.

About You

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Previous experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Experience with children with SEND, particularly ASC or SEMH.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English, grade C or above.
  • Level 3 Qualification in Learning Support or Childcare is desirable.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children.
  • Experience in delivering specific support programs to individuals or small groups.
  • Basic computer literacy skills and a flexible approach to teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning for individuals and small groups.
  • Deliver targeted support for pupils with SEND, including implementing IEPs and intervention programs.
  • Promote positive behavior, independence, wellbeing, and inclusion.
  • Provide pastoral support and contribute to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Supervise pupils during breaktimes and other non-classroom activities.
  • Support school events, educational visits, and extracurricular activities.
  • Participate in meetings and professional development.
