Salary: Up to £31,867.18 per annum (dependent on qualification)

(Qualified Support Worker salary is based on the proven existing completion of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent)

Your Working Hours

Enjoy a structured schedule with 12-hour shifts from 20:00 PM to 8:00 AM. This role requires a minimum of 48 hours per week, totaling 168 hours per month.

Your Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social development of the children and young people in our homes. Your responsibilities will include:

• Staying awake and alert throughout the night
• Ensuring each child’s safety and wellbeing
• Providing empathy and support when young people need reassurance
• Supporting personalized bedtime routines and occasional activities
• Accurately recording information using our computer systems
• Following the Philomena protocol when reporting a missing child
• Communicating effectively with out-of-hours services
• Acting as a positive role model and contributing to the home’s values

Essential Skills Required

• Ability to work as part of a team, bringing energy and enthusiasm
• Experience and knowledge of safeguarding children
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to engage and listen to children
• Organizational skills and the ability to plan and prepare work
• Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare if not already held
