At Sutherland Hall School in Tamworth, we are looking for a dedicated SENCO to join our vibrant community. About Us

Located in Tamworth, Sutherland Hall School has a proposed capacity of up to 78 pupils. We pride ourselves on creating a safe and nurturing atmosphere where every child feels valued and respected. Your Role

As our SENCO, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

• Determining the strategic development of the school’s SEN policy and provision.
• Designing and delivering interventions to bridge attainment gaps.
• Assessing and monitoring pupils’ progress in line with their EHCPs.
• Coordinating and leading annual reviews.
• Acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Collaborating with multi-agency teams and leading on Early Help initiatives.
• Liaising with the Headteacher, tutors, and parents to support individual learning plans.
• Maintaining accurate records and supporting colleagues in effective teaching strategies.
• Working closely with external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for our pupils.
• Implementing and evaluating intervention groups for pupils with SEN.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• The National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete the NPQ for SENCOs.
• Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
• A background in teaching within an autism/SEMH school.
• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
• A commitment to professional development and a passion for learning.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, term-time only position with a basic salary of £42,000 per annum. You will be part of a friendly and inclusive team dedicated to improving pupil outcomes.
