We are currently seeking a Qualified Waking Night Support Worker to join our team and help create a stable, nurturing environment for the children in our care.

About the Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our young residents during the night. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Staying awake and alert throughout your shift to ensure each young person’s safety.
  • Providing calm, compassionate support during the night, especially during challenging times.
  • Supporting individual bedtime routines and engaging in suitable nighttime activities.
  • Maintaining accurate computer-based records and adhering to all safeguarding procedures.
  • Communicating effectively with out-of-hours services and handling calls professionally.
  • Acting as a positive role model for both colleagues and young people.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary: Up to £31,867.18 per annum (dependent on qualifications).
  • Fixed Rota Pattern: Enjoy a structured schedule with a minimum average of 168 hours per month.
  • Annual Leave: 236 hours per year, increasing by 12 hours annually for the first three years (up to 272 hours).
  • Pension Scheme: Available after the qualifying period.
  • Training and Development: Comprehensive induction and mandatory training, plus fully funded enrolment onto required qualifications if not already held.

Working Conditions

Your shifts will run from 20:00 PM to 8:00 AM, allowing you to make a significant impact during the night. You will be working across our homes in Camden, Haringey, and Islington.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following:

  • Strong team player with energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to follow delegated tasks and produce clear, detailed handovers.
  • Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Well-organized, with the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
  • Willingness to work towards the relevant qualification if not already held; a Children’s Workforce Diploma (or equivalent) is desirable.
