At Foster Care Associates (FCA), we’re on a mission to create positive and lasting impacts for looked-after children. We’re seeking a Senior/Supervising Social Worker to join our supportive team, working remotely to support Foster Parents in Southampton and Hampshire.

About Us

Founded in 1994 by a former Foster Parent and social worker, FCA has grown into one of the UK's largest independent fostering agencies. Our journey began in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, and we’ve built a strong reputation for excellence in fostering services. Our core purpose remains unchanged: “to make a positive and lasting difference for children, families, and communities.” At FCA, we believe in the power of family, and we’re committed to supporting every child and Foster Parent every minute of the day.

Your Role

As a Senior/Supervising Social Worker, you will:

  • Conduct regular supervision sessions with allocated Foster Parents in line with FCA's Operational Standards.
  • Collaborate with the child’s network to identify needs within the Foster Parent household.
  • Ensure compliance with all key documentation for each child and Foster Parent.
  • Attend meetings and provide reports for Commissioning Teams regarding individual care packages.
  • Encourage participation of children and young people in agency development and community resources.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours support service and day duty system on a rota basis.
  • Conduct occasional initial home visits and Form F Assessments.

To thrive in this role, you must have:

  • A Social Work qualification and professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • The willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
  • A full driving licence.

Working Conditions & Benefits

We offer a competitive basic salary of up to £41,960.42 per annum, depending on experience, along with a range of fantastic benefits:
