Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people? At Dove Adolescent Services, we provide safe and nurturing homes for children aged 8-18, helping them build emotional resilience and develop into confident adults. We’re looking for passionate individuals to join our Barnsley homes as Senior Residential Support Workers.

Contract Details

  • Type: Full-time, permanent
  • Hours: Average of 39 hours per week with a rotating weekly schedule
  • Salary:
    • Unqualified: Base salary of £28,260.76, with potential earnings up to £33,660.76 including sleep-in shifts.
    • Qualified: Base salary of £29,253.49, with potential earnings up to £34,653.49 including sleep-in shifts.

Your Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Create a warm, homely environment through daily household tasks
  • Support young people's interests and encourage positive activities
  • Safeguard young people and contribute to care and risk plans
  • Build trusting, meaningful relationships
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and personal development
  • Manage behavior with confidence and compassion
  • Support family and peer connections
  • Participate in care planning, reviews, and team meetings
  • Advocate for young people at meetings and reviews

What We're Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 12 months experience in a children's residential home
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential
  • Experience supporting vulnerable young people
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience
  • Flexibility with hours (including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays)
  • Good IT and record-keeping skills
