Basic Salary: Up to £37,500 plus SEN Allowance: £2,679

About Easthorpe School

At Easthorpe School, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for children and young people in the East Midlands. Since opening our doors in November 2022, we have been expanding our team to support the growing number of pupils in our Lower School provision for ages 7-13. With class sizes capped at seven pupils, each class is supported by a qualified teacher and up to two teaching assistants.

We specialize in supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), including diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher to shape the future of our new provision and make a meaningful impact on our pupils' lives.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum, tailored to meet the complex SEMH needs of our pupils.
• Support the class team in creating enriching learning opportunities and fostering positive behaviors.
• Monitor and report on pupils' progress, collaborating with staff to ensure their needs are met.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips.
• Assist the Exams Officer with the planning and administration of internal and external examinations.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• A strong educational background at degree level.
• Previous successful experience in SEND teaching.
• Understanding of the examination process.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs in an educational setting.
• Effective behavior management techniques.
• A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
