We are currently seeking a Qualified Waking Night Support Worker to join our team and help create a stable, nurturing environment for the children in our care.

About the Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our young residents during the night. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Staying awake and alert throughout your shift to ensure each young person’s safety.
  • Providing calm, compassionate support during the night, especially during challenging times.
  • Supporting individual bedtime routines and engaging in suitable nighttime activities.
  • Maintaining accurate computer-based records and adhering to all safeguarding procedures.
  • Communicating effectively with out-of-hours services and handling calls professionally.
  • Acting as a positive role model for both colleagues and young people.

What We Offer

  • Salary: Up to £31,867.18 per annum (dependent on qualifications).
  • Contract Type: Permanent.
  • Location: Greater London (covering homes in Camden, Haringey & Islington).
  • Hours: 20:00pm - 8:00am (12-hour shifts).
  • Annual Leave: 236 hours per year, increasing by 12 hours annually for three years (up to 272 hours).
  • Pension Scheme: Available after the qualifying period.
  • Training: Comprehensive induction and mandatory training to support your development.
  • Fixed Rota Pattern: Week 1: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun (60 hours); Week 2: Wed, Thu (24 hours).
  • Fully Funded Qualifications: Enrolment onto required qualifications if not already held.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong team player with energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to follow delegated tasks and produce clear, detailed handovers.
  • Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Well-organized, with the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
  • Willingness to work towards the relevant qualification if not already held (Children’s Workforce Diploma or equivalent is desirable).
