Role Overview

- Salary: Up to £15,423.23 per Annum

Your Role
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of Year 6 and Year 7 pupils with Special Educational Needs. Working closely with the SENDCo and teaching staff, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Class Teacher in supporting pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis.
- Preparing and maintaining differentiated resources to meet the requirements of the pupil's Educational Care Health Plan.
- Delivering targeted support for pupils with SEND, including implementing IEPs and intervention programmes.
- Promoting positive behaviour, independence, wellbeing, and inclusion.
- Providing pastoral support and contributing to safeguarding and child protection.
- Supervising pupils during breaktimes and other non-classroom activities.
- Supporting school events, educational visits, and extracurricular activities.
- Participating in meetings and professional development.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
- Experience with children with SEND, particularly ASC or SEMH.
- A genuine enthusiasm for supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
- GCSEs in Maths and English, grade C or above.
- A Level 3 Qualification in Learning Support or Childcare (desirable).
- The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
- A flexible approach to teamwork.
